An organ donation awareness program was arranged at NU Hospital Padmanabha Nagar. Transplant Coordinators from Jeevasarthakathe Mr. Naushad Pasha, Mr. Choodesh, and Mr. Chetan participated in the event, Dr. Dilip Ranganath Group Medical director of NU hospital was gracing the occasion and talked about the importance of organ donation, the reasons of organ failure and how our life affects it. A PPT was presented by Mr. Chetan Kumar about organ donation and Mr. Naushad Pasha enlightened the gathering about the Role and responsibilities of Jeevasarthakathe. More than 200 employees of the NU hospital participated in the event about 150 people came forward and pledged for organ donation.
The Redcross society organized an awareness program on organ donation for Roshni Students at Wenlock hospital. In this program, Ms. Padma, the transplant coordinator of Jeevasarthakthe/ SOTTO Karnataka Mangaluru zone explained the need and importance of organ donation, the concept of brain death, and also the importance of pledging for organ donation. Nearly 15 members participated in this program and 4 students pledged for organ donation.
Ms. Lijamol Joseph Chief Transplant coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe/ SOTTO Karnataka has been invited as the subject matter expert to discuss the possibility of setting up a centralized testing facility for all renal cross-match facilities of Kerala SOTTO. The meeting was hosted by the nodal officer of K-SOTTO Dr. Noble Gracious. Dr. Latha Jagadnathan and Dr. Ankit Mathur from Bangalore Medical Trust discussed the possibility of hands-on training and hand-holding of the existing staff by them. The meeting concluded with a facility tour of Trivandrum Medical college hospital.
An organ donation awareness event was held at DarshanMedicare and old age home in collaboration with Enable India NGO students, Transplant coordinator from Jeevasarthakthe Ms. Shobha participated in the event and shared the importance of organ donation and pledging for organ donation. 20 members participated in the events and 5 people came forward and pledged for organ donation.
An Organ donation awareness event was held in the State Level Youth Festival at Gandhi Bhavan Bangalore in collaboration with the Department of Pre-University Education and National Service Scheme and the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports Govt of India, Mr. Chetan and Mr. Srinivas Transplant coordinators from Jeevasarthakathe participated in the event. A PPT was presented by Mr. Chethan about Organ Donation, and Mr. Srinivas enlightened the gathering about Jeevasarthakathe and the importance of Organ donation. More than 150 NSS students attended the event and 30 came forward to pledge for organ donation.
The SDM law college of Mangalore in collaboration with the A.J hospital and Research center organized an awareness program on organ donation for Management Students at SDM law college Mangalore. The principal of SDM law college and Ms. Soumya transplant coordinator of A.J hospital participated in the program. Dr. Prashanth Marla, MD A.J hospital presented the PPT on the needs and importance of organ donation, the concept of brain death, and the importance of pledging organs. A short movie regarding organ donation named Jeevanvileenwas also showcased to students. Ms. Padma Transplant coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe/ SOTTO Karnataka explained the importance of pledging for organ donation. Nearly 200 members participated in this program and 18 students pledged for organ donation.
Dr. Geetha a Gynaecologist from Sree Sai Ram Hospital has organized an Awareness event on account of her aunt’s death ceremony. Ms. Chandrakala Transplant coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe participated in the event and shared details about organ donation and pledging for organ donation more than 50 people were attending the event and 15 people came forward and pledged for organ donation.
A living donor advocacy workshop has been conducted by the MOHAN Foundation at Abu Sarovar Portico Kilpau Chennai to encourage ethical living donation and explore ways to increase the donor pool so that the maximum number of lives can be saved. Ms. Lijamol Joseph Chief Transplant coordinator from Jeevsarthakathe/ SOTTO Karnataka participated in the workshop. The topics covered during the workshop are, 1. Special Judgments for living donations 2. Social media and living donation 3. Non-Directed Altruistic Donation 4. Making a Living donation free of Coercion 5. Role of Independent Living Donor Advocacy 6. Health Insurance to support Living Donors and Recipient
The organ donation awareness program was held at the Maternity ward District Hospital Dharwad, Mr. Manoj Nayak Transplant Coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe/ SOTTO Hubbali zone attended the program and talked about organ donation, and distributed IEC material. 20 people attended the program.
The District Disability Rehabilitation center organized an awareness program on Ayushman Bharath and organ donation for the general publicand University Students at Rayi Gramapanchayath of Bantwala Taluk. In this program, Ms. Padma transplant coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe/ SOTTO Karnatakashared her knowledge about the needs and importance of organ donation, and the concept of brain death. Ms. Laveena another transplant coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe/ SOTTO Karnatakaexplained the importance of pledging for organ donation. The district coordinator of Ayushman Bharath Dr.Yashashwini explained the Ayushman Bharath schemes. Nearly 150 members including the President of Gramapanchayath, PDOparticipated in the program. 18 students pledged for organ donation.
An organ donation awareness event was held atEnable India NGO for the staff and students of the NGO, Transplant coordinator from Jeevasarthakthe/ SOTTO Karnataka Ms. Shobha participated in the event and shared the importance of organ donation and pledging for organ donation. More than 50 members including a few blind students associated with the NGO participated in the event.
An Organ Donation Awareness program was held at the Maternity Ward ground floor of District Hospital Dharwad, Mr.Manoj Nayak Transplant Coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe/ SOTTO Karnataka Hubbali zone attended the program and talked about organ donation, and distributed IEC material. 20 people attended the program.
An organ donation awareness event was held at Kristu Jayanti College Bangalore as part of the expert lecture series for social work students and NSS volunteers. Ms. Lijamol Joseph Chief Coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe has been invited as the Resource Person for an Expert Lecture on The Role of Professional Social Workers in Organ Donation followed by Q & A. Around 350 students including the students from Red Cross participated in the event and all the students took an oath to become organ donor ambassadors.

A preliminary meeting was held on 24th Feb at Sindhur IB about celebrating World Kidney Day. Mr. Shekappa Kattimani Transplant Coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe/ SOTTO Karnataka participated in the meeting and discussed organizing the Jatha and public awareness on organ donation and pledge camp. CPM Organization members, SUDHI Electronic media head Mr.Devindra, GREEN Raichur organization Mr. RajesdraShivale, & youth union association president attended the meeting.
Induction training for 21 days was held at Regional Health and Family Welfare Training Centre Arogya Soudha gate for 3rd batch newly recruited medical officers. Ms. Lijamol Joseph chief coordinator from Jeevasarthakathe/ SOTTO Karnataka has been invited as the subject expert to talk on “Process flow of organ donation in Karnataka”. About 30 trainee officers attended the session.
